Proxy Connection Error With µTorrent
Do you use µTorrent? Have you ever gotten this error message:
Proxy connect error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
It would show up under the “Tracker Status” column. If this shows up, your connection speed may be limited, or you may not get a connection at all.
There is a very simple fix for this. Disable the proxy server settings. Here’s how:
1. Click on Options/Preferences.
2. Click on the “Connection” settings in the left dialog box.
3. You’ll see, on the right, where it says “Proxy Server.” In the “Type” box, select “(none).”
Now go back to your torrents, select them all (CTRL+A), right-click on them and select “Update Tracker.” After a few seconds they should say “working” in the “Tracker Status” column.
And that’s it. Enjoy!

Re “Proxy Connect Error – uTorrent”, I followed the suggested fix, however, when I click on Connection in Preferences the right side of the box remains blank so I cannot select any options for connection.

Ok , Im using proxy to connect to the internet as well as uTorrent . So I cannot just set the proxy server to none . By the way, Im using socks5 . Can you still help me?
Warning disabling the proxy means you are open to beign watched and fined by the MPAA.
This is only true if you actually pay from some type of proxy service. If not, it’s just going to screw up your connection.

That may work but won’t it broadcast your IP out to everyone? Defeats the purpose of being anonomous.
