How To Make Google’s Gmail Your Default E-Mail Application
WARNING: This following “How To” involves editing the registry. Be sure to create a backup, or a system restore point, before making ANY changes.
Tired of using Microsoft Outlook? Tired of not having a choice? I’ve noticed a lot of people on the internet that want to make Google’s Gmail their default e-mail application, and Microsoft goes out of their way to make it extremely difficult to do this. Well, I’m here to solve this problem for you, very easily.
Simply download this file, which is a registry entry containing all the necessary code to implement Gmail in your “Internet Options” menu. When the download window pops up, click on “Run,” and the file will be entered into your registry.
After that, open up your “Internet Options” found in the Control Panel. Click on the “Programs” tab, then next to “Email,” you can click the little menu and, magically, there’s “Google Gmail.”
Of course, Microsoft would never tell you how to do this. Competition is far more important than making the customer happy.
